Sharing and experiencing nature, food, and culture. With Kvæven in Sirdal as our base, we offer accessible guided tours focusing on nature education, traditional food at Sirdal Fjellgård, and accommodation in museum buildings and glamping cabins at Sirdal Mountain Museum.

Sirdal Adventures provides an authentic experience of how people ate, slept, and lived while hunting wild reindeer over 200 years ago. Businessman Gerhardt Heiberg purchased large parts of Sirdalsheiene, offering very attractive reindeer hunting and fishing to the European nobility of the time. Guests primarily came from Germany and England to enjoy the good life in the mountains.

The Trongenhytta cabin was relocated to Kvæven from Ljosadalen, situated between Sirdal and Setesdal, in 2005. The cabin is completely original and well-preserved.

SSA offers accommodation, wild game stew prepared as it was 200 years ago, drinks, and something extra in the wonderful and secluded surroundings of Kvæven. This is a truly fantastic experience.

Suitable for groups and families. Up to 10 people can be accommodated in Trongenhytta and the adjoining shelter. Minimum four people.
